Pyrotenax Mineral insulated (MI) series heating systems are particularly suitable for applications with highest power requirements or for high exposure temperatures. MI heating systems provide the most reliable solutions for temperatures of up to 1000°C. Depending on the application, they typically require more sophisticated control systems.

The range of MI heating cables covers a wide range of resistances, they can be used for short to very long circuits of several kilometers.
MI heating cables can't be easily terminated in the field. Termination of MI heating cables is craft sensitive, the joint of a high temperature heating cable to a MI cold lead cable requires experience with silver soldering of MI cables and specific tools. Tyco Thermal Controls therefore recommends to order factory terminated heating units, which are manufactured under the most suitable conditions and are fully tested before leaving the factory. This provides a connection as reliable as the heating cable itself. The joints can be done either by silver-soldering or using our laser technology. In particular for industrial applications involving high temperatures or power output, the laser technology provides the most reliable solution for industrial applications.
