Building Materials Selector

There is more to a warm, renovated floor than only the floor heating system. Besides a quality floor heating system, a well-functioning warm floor also requires careful floor preparation and finishing. This is particularly important for renovation applications – because the sub floor can be anything.

Raychem systems have undergone severe compatibility testing at the leading building material suppliers in Europe. The result is a complete overview of which products can be used in combination with the selected Raychem floor heating system. By using these combinations and following the manufacturers recommendations for installation, you build a safe and long-lasting, warm floor. In general the following steps are required for tile floors:
  1. Apply a primer
  2. (optional) Level out any unevenness using self-leveling material
  3. Install the Raychem floor heating system
  4. (optional) Level out any unevenness using self-leveling material
  5. (optional) Apply a water barrier
  6. Apply a tile adhesive
  7. Lay tiles
  8. Apply grout between tiles
  9. Apply rubberized grout between wall and floor
