Sensor Technology

High Temperature Sensors
Predominantly for turbine applications. Un-cooled sensor configurations are capable of stable performance up to 2000°F (1100°C) at the probe tip. Cooled probe designs, with the inclusion of flutes and cooling apertures, have advanced to operational temperatures of 2550°F (1400°C).

Sensor Technology
Tyco Thermal Controls offers a full design and development service to meet our customers' test requirements. All product designs are bespoke to specific customer needs and utilise the operational benefits of tri-axial cable. Sensors range from low temperature designs with flexible cable, to mid range compressor designs using MI cable, up to high temperature turbine designs with cooling channels.

Mid Temperature Sensors
Typically for FM compressor applications or AM systems a range exists for sensor designs up to an operating temperature of 1650°F (900°C).

The probes are un-cooled but with the same construction as the high temperature sensors, being fully captured using MI cable, advanced ceramics and engineering superalloys.

Low Temperature Sensors
For operations below 400°F (200°C) low temperature sensors incorporating tri-axial flexible cable are available.

Together with their inherent routing flexibility they have lower capacitance and also provide a lower cost solution.
