Three Good Reasons to Select a Raychem Frost Protection System

FlexiClic: an innovative modular approach for frost protection of gutters

It combines the Raychem self-regualting heating cable with an adequate insulation and smart control units.

Cut installation time in traditional fast connection systems
Self-regulating heating cables can be cut-to-length on site. The RayClic connection system cuts installation time by 80%: inserting the stripped cable into the module and tightening two screws is all it takes.

Economical to operate
The self-regulating cable adjusts its output to e.g. changing weather conditions and the control unit only switches the system on when moisture and low temperatures are present.

How the Raychem EMDR-10 control unit works
This intelligent control unit triggers the heating process of the self-regulating cables when and if necessary, which results in substantial energy savings. An ordinary ambient sensing thermostat starts the heating process based on the ambient temperature, dropping below the set value. The EMDR-10 will start the heating process only after detection of low temperature and humidity. The heating cable is deactivated when air temperature rises above the set value, or when moisture is below the set value.
Energy saving case study: How electricity consumption was reduced by 75% at a power plant in Luzern (CH).

Self-regulating cables are safe

Self-regulating heating cables have a UV-resistant, modified-polyolefin outer jacket that ensures a long life even when exposed to all weather conditions.
