First install a thin contact layer on the sub floor by using a suitable cement based adhesive ClassC2F. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. In a second step apply the adhesive to the sub floor for each board by using a trowel with notch sizes of 8 mm and put a thin contact layer on the backside of the board which will be laid in the adhesive.

The Insulation boards are to be laid directly onto this adhesive and bedded in so that no voids remain underneath. The boards should be laid so the joints are staggered (minimum 500 mm) and they must not bridge any movement joints, of which the integrity must be preserved. If necessary, adjust the boards size with a knife.

Only for cement based or concrete sub floors The edges and the centre of the board must be fixed with Isolecta Fixing pins (5 pcs per sqm) immediately after the board is glued. Use a drilling machine (Ø 8 mm).

Only for wooden sub floors When the adhesive has set, the boards should be given additional strength from screw fixing at a rate of 5 screws per square meter. Note that the screws are to be applied at least (a minimum of) 30 mm from the board’s edge. Proprietary washers should be used, with the countersunk screws being tightened until the head is flush with the board surface. In wet areas it is strongly recommended sealing the holes with silicone before fixing the floor heating to the Isolecta boards.
